One of the toughest holes on the course, Number 3 is a test for all golfers.  With a fade required from the tee, and out of bounds left, a long and accurate drive is important.  From the back tees, it is 265 yards to the flat part of the fairway. Anything less will leave you a severe side hill or uphill lie.  There is a bailout flat section of the fairway down the left side but it will leave you a long iron into the green, not to mention having to flirt with the out of bounds down the left on your tee shot.
